Rava Idli
Experience the light and fluffy delight of our Rava Idli, a popular South Indian breakfast dish that combines semolina (rava) with a medley of aromatic spices and tangy yogurt.
Ingredients:
1 cup organic semolina (rava/sooji)
1/4 cup organic grated carrots
1/4 cup organic grated coconut
1 cup organic yogurt (dahi/curd)
1/4 cup chopped organic coriander leaves
1 tsp organic mustard seeds
1 tsp organic urad dal (split black gram)
1 tsp organic chana dal (split bengal gram)
1 tbsp organic oil
1/2 tsp organic baking soda
Salt to taste
Recipe:
1.In a pan, dry roast the semolina on low heat until it turns light golden brown in color. Keep it aside to cool down.
2.In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Allow them to crackle and then add the urad dal and chana dal. Fry until they turn golden brown in color.
3.Add grated carrots, grated coconut, and chopped coriander leaves to the pan and sautƩ for a minute.
4.In a mixing bowl, combine the roasted semolina, yogurt, and the sautƩed vegetable mixture. Mix well and add water if required to make a batter with medium consistency. Add salt as per taste and mix well.
5.Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes so that semolina absorbs the liquid.
6.Grease the idli molds and pour the batter into the molds.
7.Steam the idlis for about 10-12 minutes.
8.Once done, remove from the molds and serve hot with sambar or coconut chutney. Enjoy your organic rava idlis!
