Organic Khichadi made from organic rice and organic moong dal

Moong Khichadi

Indulge in the nourishing comfort of our Organic Moong Khichadi, a harmonious blend of organic moong dal (split green gram), aromatic basmati rice, and a delicate combination of spices.


1 cup organic moong dal

1 cup organic rice

3 cups water 

1 tbsp organic ghee or oil

1 tsp organic cumin seeds

1 tsp organic mustard seeds

1 tsp organic turmeric powder

1 tsp organic red chilli powder

Salt to taste

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish


1.Rinse the organic moong dal and organic rice together in water.

2.In a pressure cooker or pot, heat the organic ghee or oil over medium heat.

3.Add the organic cumin seeds and organic mustard seeds and let them splutter.

4.Add the organic turmeric powder and organic red chilli powder and stir for a few seconds.

5.Add the rinsed organic moong dal and organic rice to the pot, along with 3 cups of water.

6.Add salt to taste and stir everything together.

7.If using a pressure cooker, cover and cook on high pressure for 3 whistles, then let the pressure release naturally. If using a pot, cover and cook on low heat for about 25-30 minutes, or until the water is fully absorbed and the rice and dal are cooked.

8.Serve the organic moong dal khichadi hot, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves.

9.Note: You can add chopped vegetables like carrots, peas, or potatoes to the khichadi for added nutrition and flavor.
